Domaine Alain Gras is located in Saint Romain, a picture-postcard village perched on a beautiful hill between Meursault and Pommard. Saint Romain is a small appellation in Burgundy, with only 15 hectares of vineyards, where excellent Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are produced. Alain Gras has been working passionately since 1979, with a great respect for the land in in recent years with his son Arthur. This is an exceptional terroir thanks to being on top of a hill, which benefits from a limestone-clay soil that forces the vine roots to descend deep into the bedrock to obtain the nutrients they need. The typicity of the soil in Saint Romain gives minerality, elegance and freshness to our grapes. Alain Gras wines are listed in most of France’s Michelin three-star restaurants which is down to his own sheer determination, and his friendship with the late master chef, Bernard Loiseau, of Saulieu.
